Welcome to EvolutionHipHop.com. My name is Dogmatic. The primary purpose of EvolutionHipHop is to document and celebrate Hip-Hop culture. Hip-Hop has four basic elements: Emcees aka MCs, DJs, B-Boys/Girls and Writers. Emcees are the most known. They are the guys/girls on the mic at shows. They do the lyrics. They control the crowd and entertain. The DJs spin the records. They produce, mix, chop, blend and transform the sounds. The B-Boys/Girls are the dancers: breakdancing / dancehall / stepping. Writers are graffiti artists, taggers, painters, poets, commentators and editors of magazines/books.

The godfathers of Hip-Hop established a beautiful blend of music/dance/art and an evolutionary musical sound. This site is dedicated to the pioneers Red Alert, Grand Wizard Theodore, Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel, Afrika Bambaata, The Zulu Nation, The Rock Steady Crew, Kool Herc, Jazzy Jay, Kurtis Blow, Fab Five Freddy, the early bombers (graffiti artists) from Philadelphia/New York City and all the people in the boroughs of the Boogie Down Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens circa 1970-1983. You changed the world.

EvolutionHipHop is also dedicated to the artists/magazines/tv shows/radio shows who inspired me over the years. These include Run-DMC, EPMD, De La Soul, Eric B. & Rakim, DJ EZ Rock & Rob Base, A Tribe Called Quest, Boogie Down Productions/KRS-ONE, DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Dr. Dre, Yo! MTV Raps hosts Ed Lover and Dre, Soul Train, Tigger on 95.5 WPGC (D.C.), The Source Magazine, DJ Ran/Colby Colb/Cosmic "Strictly Skillz" Kev on Power 99 (98.9 WUSL - Philly), Stretch & Bobbito and The World Wide Wake Up Show with Sway/King Tech/DJ Revolution.

RIP to the greats who left this world way before their time: Christopher "Biggie Smalls" Wallace, Tupac Shakur, J Dilla, Prodigy, Phife Dawg, Sean Price, Jam Master Jay, Big L, Big Pun, Rick James, Gil Scott-Heron, Michael Jackson and two ladies who were very much hip-hop: Aaliyah Dana Haughton & Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.
